Ontario Drivers Licence Services in Winchester

▼ Drivers Licence renewal

You will receive a renewal notice in the mail or a reminder by email 60 to 90 days before your driver’s licence is set to expire.

You can renew a driver’s licence or at your ServiceOntario centre, as early as 180 days before it expires and up to 12 months after it expires.

An Ontario driver’s licence is valid for 5 years. You can renew it every 5 years at your ServiceOntario centre.

If you need a new photo, you need to visit a ServiceOntario centre to have one taken.

If you moved recently, you need to update your address on record with the Ontario government.

You can’t renew your driver’s licence online within 90 days of changing your address.

▼ Replace Drivers Licence

You can get a one-time, temporary driver’s licence if your driver’s licence is valid (not cancelled or suspended).

To get a replacement please provide:

Your driver's licence number (or your full name as it appeared on the licence and your date of birth, if you do not know your driver’s licence number)

You have to show proof of your:

  • Legal name
  • Date of birth - including day, month, year of birth
  • Signature

You must use original documents, not photocopies. The documents must be valid, not expired.

Acceptable identity documents

You can show one of these documents to meet the requirement:

Canadian Citizens

  • Passport (Canadian or foreign)
  • Canadian Citizenship Card with photo
  • Ontario Photo Card

Permanent Residents

  • Permanent Resident (PR) Card
  • Record of Landing (IMM 1000)
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292)
  • Ontario Photo Card

Temporary Residents

  • Study Permit / Student Authorization (IMM 1442)
  • Work Permit / Employment Authorization (IMM 1442)
  • Visitor Record (IMM 1442)
  • Temporary Resident Permit (IMM 1442)
  • Refugee Status Claim (IMM 1434)
  • Acknowledgement of Intent to Claim Refugee Status (IMM 7703) with photo
  • Report Pursuant to the Immigration Act (IMM 1442) with photo
  • Ontario Photo Card

▼ Change Name or address

Important: Before you come into the Winchester ServiceOntario centre, you need to bring your complete new residential and/or mailing address.

When you update a driver’s licence or vehicle permit, you must also update the address on your health card.

If you are changing the address on your vehicle registration (ownership) you will need to visit a Winchester ServiceOntario centre to exchange your old registration for a new one that shows your new address.

There is no charge for this service.
